Flickr be damned!

Now that I've done it I can't think about going back. I'm kind of obsessed with Flickr.

For whatever reason when I post here I feel as if it's more formal or final. Oh, yes - here's this work. It's done. It's "finished".

But on Flickr it just feels like... Whatever. Done or not, here's this thing. And it's fun.

I'm dumb! Why do I have to take everything so seriously?!

Extracurricular Activities: Flickr

I've been discouraged by logging in to my Wordpress administrator panel to find-CAPTCHA be damned!-tons and tons of comments from bots trying to sell me Ugg boots and Levitra; and signing into my cPanel to find out lots of hits to my main site are coming in from websites with .ru extensions that I suspect are really more sneaky marketing portals sending fake visitors/hits to me just so I'll visit them to find out why people are coming from there to me! (I'm not sure, exactly, because I'm scared to legitimately visit them and can only scope out their suspicious domain names from afar.) Surely I must have more value on the internet than being just an untargeted advertisement recipient? How depressing.

Anyway, with said setback to ACTUALLY COMMUNICATING glaring me in the face, I've started posting some of my photographs on Flickr. I'm not sure if this is something I'm going to continue or not, because there are some things about Flickr that drive me up the wall, but I am trying. My username is "sodapopnu", is this too obvious? Probably. But my efforts to try and get visitors here to look at my photos in a "natural," non-obvious, unintrusive way is so unintrusive it's not getting me anywhere.

Tags!

Since I turned Sodapop.nu into a Wordpress site, I've internally (i.e. for myself only) used post tags ("labels" in Blogger-speak) to see if I liked them, needed them, or wanted to include them for presentational purposes. I figured out pretty early on that I did, but was so lazy that only JUST NOW have I sorted through them and added functionality for them to my current theme. Sooo.... yay? For lateness? Anyone?

I'm also working on a revamp of the current Sodapop.nu theme, using similar colors, fonts, and ideas but making it a little more CSS3 pretty (since right now it's kind of... you know, just there). I'd like to get that done this week, but technically I should probably be doing something "productive" i.e. school-related with my time (although I managed to convince myself that revamping Sodapop.nu constituted schoolwork in that I was trying out new coding things, so this isn't as hopeless as it sounds!).

Happy Thanksgiving! Hooray for sitting around a table with my family but not eating.... duck. WTF.
